2024 Clos de la Roilette - Fleurie (750ml)

On granite and clay soils, this sustainably farmed Fleurie benefits from vines that are over 40 years old, bringing depth and resilience to the wine. The northeast exposure provides a mineral lift and a refined edge that distinguishes Clos de la Roilette from its neighbors while echoing the structure familiar to nearby Moulin-à-Vent.

Vinification and aging unfold with care: whole-cluster, semi-carbonic maceration in concrete for 14 days, followed by eight months of élevage in foudre. After malolactic fermentation, only 1 gram of SO2 per hectoliter is added, with the potential for a second gram at bottling if deemed necessary. The wine is produced with light filtration at bottling (non-sterile).

Fun fact: Roilette was the name of the prior owner's prized race horse, adding a touch of history to this distinctive site—though Clos de la Roilette itself is not a clos.
