2024 Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin Chablis Les Clos Hommage à Louis Grand Cru From one of Chablis' most storied and respected domaines — the Droin family has farmed these hallowed slopes for over three centuries — comes this supremely special and deeply personal cuvée, a tribute to the family's patriarch Louis and a wine that reaches for the very summit of what Chablis can achieve. Les Clos is the largest and most celebrated of Chablis' seven Grand Cru climats, a south-facing amphitheater of ancient Kimmeridgian limestone and fossilized oyster shell that produces whites of almost incomprehensible depth, complexity, and longevity — and in Droin's expert hands, every nuance of this extraordinary terroir is captured with breathtaking fidelity. The 2024 vintage, marked by a return to Chablis' natural freshness and precision after several warmer years, yields a wine of extraordinary purity and tension — a luminous, penetrating nose of white peach, lemon zest, crushed chalk, and that singular saline, oyster-shell minerality that is the exclusive and irreplicable signature of Grand Cru Chablis at its most sublime. The palate is taut, focused, and majestic, with a steely, almost electric acidity, extraordinary textural depth, and a finish of seemingly infinite length that echoes with mineral precision long after the last sip. A tribute to Louis Droin, to the Les Clos terroir, and to everything that makes Chablis one of the world's most intellectually thrilling wine regions. Cellar it, cherish it, and open it only on the most worthy of occasions.

93-95 Points
"The 2024 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru Hommage à Louis (the name is
now officially ratified by the authorities) has the best aromatics among
the Grand Crus, with more mineralité and intensity. Wet limestone and
sea cave aromas burst from the glass. The palate is vibrant with energy
and tension. It has a light reduction that Droin attributes to the blue
clay soils and a complex, persistent finish. The 2024 is excellent!
