Planteray Sealander Rum (700ml)
Three oceans. Three islands. One remarkable voyage.
The Sealander is an ode to the history of sailing between the great rum-producing islands — honoring that tradition by combining three legendary origins: Barbados, Fiji, and Mauritius.
The Barbados component comes from the West Indies Distillery — a classic molasses-based rum. The Fiji element is a molasses column spirit from Rum Co. of Fiji, aged five years in charred barrels for a smoky, fruity, full-bodied character. And from Mauritius, in the French agricole tradition, comes an unaged cane juice spirit from Saint Aubin Distillery — grassy, herbal, and vibrant. The blend then undergoes a second ageing in French oak casks in southwest France — Planteray's signature double-ageing method.
The nose offers gentle pear, quince jelly, and gooseberry with hints of smoky molasses. The palate is rich with clover honey, liquorice, beeswax, and vanilla fudge, leading to a long, lingering finish of cooked apple, tonka bean, and dried banana.
Fantastically flavoursome and versatile — brilliant neat, on the rocks, or in a long drink. A brilliant statement of the diversity of the rum world in a single glass
