Tullibardine 12 yr Highland Single Malt Whiskey 750ml
Tullibardine Distillery sits near Blackford in the Scottish Highlands, drawing its water from the Danny Burn in an area prized for its purity. The site dates back to the mid-1900s but fell silent in 1993 before reopening in 2003 under new ownership, and it remains one of the few Scottish distilleries that carries out nearly every stage of production on-site, from mashing through bottling. In 2011 the French company Picard Vins & Spiritueux acquired the operation, folding it into a subsidiary that continues to run Tullibardine as a family-oriented, hands-on producer with a distinctly traditional approach.
The 12 Year Old is the distillery's flagship expression and its introduction to the American market. It is matured for a minimum of twelve years exclusively in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, a choice that shapes the whisky's pale gold color and its creamy, vanilla-forward character. Bottled at 40% ABV, it reflects the balanced, approachable style typical of Highland single malts.
The nose opens with delicate floral notes, honey, and a gentle waft of Muscovado sugar. On the palate, creamy toffee and malted biscuit meet pear, green apple, and a touch of citrus, rounding into baked apple, caramel, and marmalade on the finish. It suits smoked salmon, roast pork, or a simple cheese board.
