Maison Trimbach has produced structured, elegant, and balanced wines for three centuries and thirteen generations, guided by a purist vision passed down through the family since its founding in Ribeauvillé. The Trimbachs personally oversee every stage of the process, from planting through harvest to vinification and bottling, and that same hands-on philosophy shapes even the estate's rarer red bottlings, sourced from some of the finest Pinot Noir sites the family holds.

Cuvée 7 takes its name from the tank number where the wine was first produced, and it's made only in the domaine's most favorable years. The grapes come from the Rotenberg lieu-dit in Ribeauvillé, a southeast-facing parcel of marl and sandstone soil that gives the fruit exceptional quality. To preserve the purity and freshness of the fruit, Trimbach chooses not to age this wine in barrel, letting the Rotenberg terroir speak for itself rather than layering on oak influence.

The nose is fragrant with sour cherry, violet, and a whisper of spice, while the palate stays elegant and precise, with dark wild berries and abundant florality developing further with air. The texture is medium-bodied with fine tannins, finishing on notes of violet and redcurrant. It's a natural match for choucroute, beef bourguignon, or a soft-ripened cheese like Camembert.
