Trimbach has been growing grapes in the medieval town of Ribeauvillé since 1626, with the family now in its thirteenth generation. Jean Trimbach, a pivotal figure in the estate's 19th-century revival, pushed back against the era's fashion for sweeter wines and set the house on its enduring path toward dry, precise, age-worthy bottlings. That philosophy still guides winemaking today, led by twelfth-generation Pierre Trimbach alongside his nephew Julien, while Pierre's brother, Jean, and his daughter Anne represent the family as global ambassadors. Trimbach is also among Alsace's largest holders of Grand Cru vineyards, and in 2023 the estate earned HVE-3 organic certification.

The grapes for this Gewürztraminer come from well-exposed slopes in the foothills of the Vosges, grown in fossil-rich marl, dolomite, and limestone soils shaped by ancient marine deposits. The fruit is hand harvested at optimal ripeness, then gently pressed and fermented slowly in stainless steel and concrete at controlled temperature. Trimbach skips malolactic fermentation and extended lees contact to preserve the wine's acidity and clarity, bottling it in spring and resting it in the cellar for at least two years before release.

The wine opens with a restrained yet aromatic nose of dried rose, ripe lychee, grapefruit zest, and a touch of ginger and clove. The palate is dry and medium-bodied, with firm texture, well-integrated acidity, and a mineral undertone that lengthens the finish. It pairs beautifully with spicy cuisine, Munster or other soft cheeses, or a well-seasoned steak tartare.
