A collaboration between Adrianna Catena and winemaker Alejandro Vigil, and the entry point into the El Enemigo lineup. The fruit comes from the Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary, with vines at 1,300 meters, blended with a splash of Cabernet Franc and matured 15 months in foudre, stainless steel, and barrel. James Suckling found black cherries, fresh black plums, toasted herbs, and subtle spices, round, juicy, and pure, with medium body, a succulent finish, and beautiful length. Wine Advocate noted the vintage’s floral and herbal aromatics over a red-fruited core, with a tensile mouthfeel and a taut, mineral-inflected finish. Ready to drink now, but it will cellar for a few more years. A benchmark for what high-altitude Uco Valley Malbec can be, and a great one for steak night or grilled meats.

93 Points
"The 2023 Malbec underwent 15 months of aging with 50% in foudre,
25% in barrel and 25% in tank. These choices have heightened the
Malbec's fruitiness without overwhelming the whole, while also
underscoring the Cabernet Franc component's herbal tones and
enhancing the balsamic herb aromas throughout. Thoughtfully
calibrated oak reins in the tannins as the lightly plush palate becomes
taut through the balanced finish. Much of what the 2023 vintage lacked
was managed in the winery to great effect
