Maison Delord traces back to 1875, when Prosper Delord traveled from farm to farm in Gascony with a portable pot still, distilling local wine into Armagnac. His sons Gaston and Georges later founded the house permanently in Lannepax, and the business has since passed through successive generations of the family, with Jacques, and later his sons Sylvain and Jérôme, continuing to oversee blending and production today.

This XO expression is aged a minimum of fifteen years and built from a specific blend of grape varieties: seventy percent ugni blanc for structure, twenty percent baco for roundness, five percent colombard for herbal lift, and five percent folle blanche for floral character. All four are grown on the estate using organic practices, without pesticides, fungicides, or synthetic fertilizers. Following slow distillation at low temperature in traditional stills, the spirit matures partly in Gascon oak, which contributes deeper color and firmer tannins, and partly in Limousin oak, which favors a fruitier profile.

The result is a rich, well-balanced Armagnac showing ripe fruit, buttery orange pound cake, and toasted wood, backed by a generous core of rancio. On the palate, dark spice, burnt caramel, and dark-roast coffee unfold into toasted gingerbread with clove and black pepper, closing on a long, sweet, and spiced finish. Serve neat in a tulip glass to let the aromatics fully develop.
