2021 Prager - Riesling Smaragd Klaus
Extraordinary scores and a legendary vineyard. Here's the CMS blurb:
2021 Prager – Riesling Smaragd "Ried Klaus" Wachau (750ml)
One of the Wachau's most celebrated and age-worthy single-vineyard Rieslings — and a wine that consistently earns scores reserved for the very greatest whites on earth. Falstaff awarded the 2021 Klaus a staggering 97–99 Points, praising it as complex, taut, elegant and lively with fine peach nuances, subtle citrus notes, and extraordinary lasting power — a wine of great aging potential that needs time to fully reveal itself. Jancis Robinson was equally captivated, awarding 17.5 points and describing it as tingly-rich on the nose — clean and cool with green fruit notes and a particularly svelte texture, already delivering lots of pleasure with admirably long finish and good acidity.
