King Floyd's Lavender Bitters 100ml bottle
King Floyd's Bar Provisions is a small handcrafted bitters house based in Marin County, California, founded by Josh Burks and known locally as San Francisco's bitters company. The team sources ingredients close to home, working with regional herb suppliers and, in several cases, growing or gathering botanicals themselves, an approach that has expanded the line to around fifteen varieties spanning aromatic blends and single-strain bitters. King Floyd's has built a following among bartenders for treating bitters less like an afterthought and more like a full spice rack, with each flavor developed to stand on its own or reshape a familiar drink.
Lavender Bitters is built from a short ingredient list of lavender extract, neutral grain spirit, water, and a touch of sugar, letting the floral character lead without competing flavors. Following King Floyd's standard method, the ground lavender is percolated and macerated for up to two months, tasted and stirred throughout to draw out a full, robust extraction. Once the mixture reaches the desired depth, it is filtered and lightly sweetened with maple syrup before bottling, a step that softens the floral intensity into something rounder and more approachable.
The aroma is high toned and unmistakably floral, opening with fresh lavender before settling into a softer, slightly sweet dried herb quality. On the palate the bitters read clean and aromatic rather than heavy, with the lavender carrying real presence but staying balanced by the subtle sweetness from the maple syrup. The finish is light and perfumed, fading gradually and leaving a gentle floral note rather than any bitterness behind.
