Another outstanding 2022 at a very nice price!

Château d'Arsac has one of the largest holdings in Margaux, with 54 hectares of sandy, gravelly soil shaped by the nearby Gironde estuary. The estate was revitalized starting in 1986 under the late Philippe Raoux, and the 2022 is a Cabernet-dominant blend (72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot) fermented in temperature-controlled steel vats with gentle extraction. Deep, dark garnet in color, it shows a classic Cabernet nose of well-ripened black fruit with toasty notes on the swirl, and a massive, dense palate carrying real savoriness and unctuous, silky tannins on the finish. Serious structure and aging potential at a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel price.

Country France
Region Bordeaux
Appellation Margaux
Classification Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel
Producer Château d'Arsac
Blend 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot
Format 750ml
94 Points
"Good depth on the nose, showing blackcurrants, graphite and a touch of fresh herbs and flowers. This shows obvious potential with its tight-grained tannins providing a muscular but complete structure to the full-bodied palate. Still, quite lively and al dente. Tightly wound, long and youthful in the finish. 72% cabernet sauvignon and 28% merlot. Drink from 2026. This would hold very well in the next eight to ten years."
