Frank August Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon comes from a brand founded by Johnathan Crocker, a former fashion and denim executive who built the label around modernist design rather than a distilling legacy. Despite its name, Frank August isn't a historical figure; the whiskey is sourced from an undisclosed Kentucky distiller and released in a minimalist bottle designed to double as a decanter once its removable back label peels away. The brand's understated approach has drawn real attention in the industry, including a top honor for best bourbon in the world at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition.

Each batch is blended from no more than ten to fifteen barrels, a tight selection that lets the team fine-tune character and consistency release to release. The whiskey is bottled at 100 proof from Kentucky straight bourbon aged in new charred American oak.

The nose opens with caramel and vanilla balanced by warm oak and mild baking spice. On the palate, those same caramel and vanilla notes return, joined by cinnamon and rye bread spice as brown sugar and malt sweetness emerge. The finish runs medium to long, closing with warmth that invites another pour.
