Producer Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat (Charles van Canneyt)

Aging 16 months in 50% new oak, unfiltered
Production Dramatically reduced — 70% less than usual in 2024
Drink 2028–2040+

Les Suchots is one of Vosne-Romanée's most celebrated premier crus — a large, elongated hillside parcel running along the border with Nuits-Saint-Georges, known for producing some of the most complex and age-worthy premier crus in the village. Hudelot-Noëllat's 0.45-hectare holding is planted to century-old vines, and Burghound has described this bottling as "reference standard and by far the best value here" — high praise in a lineup that includes Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. The 2024 is a dramatically small production — Charles van Canneyt harvested on September 18, destemming 100% of the fruit, and made just 30% of his normal volume across the estate. The Suchots shows the site's hallmark depth and Vosne spice: layered red and dark fruit, floral lift, fine-grained tannins, and the long, pure mineral finish that defines this parcel. A wine to cellar but already showing its pedigree.

92-94 Points
"A more deeply pitched and even spicier nose reflects notes of plum, dark cherry and a hint of kirsch. The rich, very generously proportioned and sappy larger-bodied flavors express more evident power, though markedly less minerality, on the firm, serious, balanced and built-to-age finale. This is one to strongly consider."
