The Wine
Details is a project from the owners of Sinegal winery — a bold Cabernet Sauvignon blending Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from Sonoma County. This vintage features fruit from the AVAs of Sonoma Valley, Knights Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek, and Chalk Hill.
The grape blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 4% Petite Sirah, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Darker berries, currants, scorched earth, lead pencil, and hints of chocolate. Opens with a fragrant black currant and black licorice bouquet with hints of rose petal and wet stone.
Palate: Full-bodied with bold acidity. The mouthfeel is edgy, bold, and concentrated, with an extracted black currant and blackberry blend, notes of black licorice and oak, and hints of black cherry-cola, tobacco, and chocolate toward the end.
Finish: Dry, with substantial chewy tannins that build up and linger for a long time.
