From one of California's most storied and beloved institutions comes this generous, crowd-pleasing Napa Valley Cabernet — a wine that carries more than a century of winemaking heritage in every glass. Founded in 1900 by Georges de Latour, Beaulieu Vineyard is one of the longest continually operating wineries in Napa Valley — a living landmark of American wine history and the house that, alongside the legendary André Tchelistcheff, helped define what great California Cabernet could be. The classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has won many accolades over the years, including the #1 Wine Value of the Year by Wine Spectator — a testament to its extraordinary quality-to-price ratio.

The 2022 is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of other Bordeaux varieties plus Petite Sirah, warm and generous with a sweet-seeming richness that makes it easy to sip without further aging — full-bodied, laced with mostly red fruit from strawberries to cherries, and with underlying blueberry, cocoa, and crème de cassis notes, as James Suckling noted. The nose opens with dark red berry fruit, briary cherry, and tea-leaf herbaceous notes, while the palate delivers juicy strawberry, black raspberry, and black cherry supported by hints of mint, mocha, and dark chocolate, with smooth, round tannins, plush texture, and well-integrated vanilla and baking spice from the toasted oak barrels leading to a long, savory finish with focused acidity. Approachable and delicious right now — and a perennial crowd favorite that never disappoints.

92 Points
"A warm and generous wine with a sweet-seeming richness that makes it easy to sip without further aging. Full-bodied, laced with mostly red fruit, from strawberries to cherries, and with underlying blueberry, cocoa and creme de cassis notes. It is 81% cabernet sauvignon with small amounts of other Bordeaux grapes plus 3% petite sirah. Drink now"
