Taub Family Vineyards traces its love of wine back four generations, starting with Marc Taub's grandfather Marty, an early wine industry figure in the 1930s, and continuing through his father, David. Marc acquired the Napa winery Heritance Vintners in 2013 and rebuilt it as Taub Family Vineyards. Together with his son, Jake, he has focused on sourcing single vineyards across Napa's most distinctive sub-appellations to build a dedicated Cabernet house.

Morisoli-Borges Vineyard sits on the Rutherford Bench, a gravel-rich strip of alluvial and volcanic soil on the west side of Highway 29 that has been farmed by the Morisoli family since 1890. The vines here average around twenty years old, planted in well-drained silt and clay laced with gravel. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and hand-sorted before a cold soak of three to five days and a roughly two-week fermentation that builds color and structure.

The wine pours a deep garnet-purple, with a bouquet of dark plum and blackberry layered with tobacco, anise, and herbs de Provence. Full-bodied and broad, it shows plush texture alongside real structure and intensity. Serve it with grilled tri-tip, herbed polenta, or aged pecorino.

94 Points
"A robustly rich and densely concentrated expression of the vineyard in a warm vintage, this wine tastes of cinnamon and clove atop blackberry pie, with soft, supple tannins and well integrated oak. Good tension and texture provide energy and length."
