Force & Grace is the creative partnership of Joseph Carr, the entrepreneur behind the widely known Josh Cellars, and winemaker Jean Hoefliger, whose résumé reads like a tour of the world's most respected cellars. Since 2006, Hoefliger has served as winemaker for Alpha Omega, while also lending his talents to Château Lynch-Bages and Château Carbonnieux in Bordeaux, Meerlust in South Africa, and Michel Rolland's first Napa venture. He has twice crafted 100-point Cabernet Sauvignons for his own project, The Debate, bringing that same pedigree and precision to Force & Grace.

This bottling draws its fruit entirely from the Oakville AVA, one of Napa Valley's most storied appellations, known for producing Cabernet Sauvignon of remarkable power balanced by real finesse. The 2021 vintage is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out with a small amount of complementary blending grapes, crafted to showcase Oakville's signature combination of structure and elegance rather than sheer size or extraction.

The wine offers aromas of cinnamon, cloves, cedar, and toasted oak, layered over broad black cherry and blackberry fruit with a gentle, gripping tannic backbone. It's generous and deeply fruity now, with real potential to develop further. Pair it with herb-crusted rack of lamb, grilled portobello steaks, or aged manchego.

95 Points
"A wonderful compact and tightly knit Cabernet from the Oakville appellation with characteristic crushed stone minerals, rose petals, chocolate, pure blackberry fruit, black currants and liquorice. Full-bodied and layered with silky tannins and tangy acidity on the finish. It's fresh, refined, and electric."
