2022 Barnett Vineyards - Pinot Noir Sonoma Tina Marie (750ml)
Barnett Vineyards was founded in 1983 by Fiona and Hal Barnett atop Spring Mountain in Napa Valley, where the family built a reputation for mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon on rocky, low-yielding terrain nearly 1,700 feet above the valley floor. Alongside that Napa estate program, Barnett has sourced Pinot Noir from select Sonoma County vineyards since 2004, with winemaker David Tate crafting wines meant to show real length and staying power rather than a quick, simple finish.
Tina Marie Vineyard lies within the Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley, one of the coolest pockets in Sonoma County, where the fruit develops slowly and retains bright natural acidity. The 2022 vintage underwent a five-day cold soak before fermentation, a technique that builds the wine's notable viscosity and deepens its aromatic expression without adding weight.
The wine offers pomegranate, cherry blossom, and white pepper on the nose, with dusty cocoa and cinnamon spice adding complexity. The palate brings raspberry and strawberry jam over a distinct gravel minerality, framed by soft, elegant tannins and a long, fresh cherry finish. Pair it with grilled quail, herb-roasted chicken thighs, or fresh burrata.
