Domaine Carneros was founded in 1987 by the Taittinger family, owners of the storied Champagne house, in partnership with the Kobrand Corporation, bringing generations of Traditional Method sparkling wine expertise to California. The estate's château, perched on a 138-acre property overlooking the hills of Carneros, was modeled directly after Château de la Marquetterie, the Taittinger family's own historic property in the Champagne region of France. It remains one of the most recognizable wineries in Napa Valley, a landmark blending French heritage with California terroir.

This Brut Cuvée is crafted entirely from grapes grown within the Carneros appellation, prized for its cool, fog-influenced climate that suits both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir destined for sparkling wine. The 2022 vintage blends the majority Pinot Noir with a substantial portion of Chardonnay and a small addition of Pinot Gris, all fermented and aged using the traditional method. The wine spends close to four years aging on its lees before release, a lengthy process that builds complexity and a fine, persistent mousse.

The nose offers green apple, honeydew, pear, and lemon zest with a touch of toasted bread, while the palate brings macadamia nut, baked apple, and shortbread notes that echo the aromatics. Refined and soft in the mouth, its bright acidity and gentle bubbles make it a versatile match for smoked salmon, fried chicken, or a simple charcuterie spread.
