2022 Hartford Court - Pinot Noir Russian River Valley HALF BOTTLE (375ml)
Hartford Court was founded in 1994 by Don and Jennifer Hartford, with Jennifer bringing deep roots in California wine as the daughter of Kendall-Jackson founder Jess Jackson. The winery quickly became known for its focus on cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourcing fruit from a collection of prized estate and designated vineyards scattered across the Russian River Valley's most distinct neighborhoods.
This bottling is a barrel selection drawn from vineyards spanning the Green Valley, Laguna Ridge, Santa Rosa Plain, and Sebastopol Hills, all shaped nightly by cool Pacific fog that rolls in along the river channel. That fog preserves natural acidity while warm afternoons allow the thin-skinned Pinot Noir grapes to ripen fully. The fruit is hand-harvested, gently destemmed, fermented with native yeast, and aged for roughly ten months in French oak before bottling unfined and unfiltered.
The wine pours a deep ruby-magenta and offers black cherry, cola, sweet baking spice, and a whisper of forest floor. Medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins, it finishes clean and bright. Pair it with cedar-planked salmon, roasted chicken thighs, or a wedge of aged Gouda.
