2022 Post & Beam - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Post & Beam is the newest addition to the Far Niente Family of Wineries, joining Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel, Dolce, EnRoute, and Bella Union when it launched in 2020. Built as a more accessible entry point into the family's portfolio, the label draws on the same team's decades of Napa Valley winemaking experience to craft wines meant to be classic, balanced, and approachable rather than showy.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is built primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc sourced from vineyards across Napa Valley. After fermentation, the wine spends twenty-one months aging in a mix of French and Hungarian oak, a combination that lends structure and gentle spice without masking the fruit. The result is a wine designed for immediate enjoyment while still showing real depth.

The 2022 vintage offers up ripe plum, red cherry, and eucalyptus on the nose, followed by blackberry, cassia bark, and a hint of orange zest on the palate. Medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and soft, well-integrated tannins, it finishes long and juicy. It pairs nicely with juicy burgers, herb-roasted pork, or aged manchego cheese.
