Crown Royal Whiskey 750ml

Crown Royal was introduced in 1939 by Samuel Bronfman, president of the Seagram Company, created as a gift fit for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth during the first visit of a reigning British monarch to Canada. The whisky stayed a Canadian exclusive until 1964, when it moved into international markets and went on to become the world's best-selling Canadian whisky, known as much for its purple velvet bag as for what's inside it. Production remains centered at the company's Gimli, Manitoba distillery on the shores of Lake Winnipeg, with final blending and bottling completed at a facility in Amherstburg, Ontario.

This original expression, sometimes labeled Fine De Luxe, is built from fifty individually distilled Canadian whiskies made from rye, corn, and barley, with roughly eighty percent of the grain sourced from Manitoba and neighboring provinces. The Gimli distillery uses twelve column stills and several distinct mash recipes to produce those component whiskies, each aged separately for a minimum of three years in new or reused charred oak barrels before the blending team combines them into the final product. The finished whisky is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume.

The nose is rich and robust, with light touches of vanilla and orchard fruit. On the palate, that character turns delicately smooth and creamy, carrying oak and sweet vanilla alongside a hint of clove and nutmeg. The finish is long and lingering, closing gently on that same warm vanilla and soft spice. It's versatile enough to work equally well neat, on the rocks, or as the base for a classic Manhattan.
