Maison Joseph Drouhin has been a family-run house in Beaune since 1880, now guided by the fourth generation of siblings Véronique, Frédéric, Philippe, and Laurent Drouhin. Among its most storied relationships is a decades-long arrangement with the Marquis de Laguiche family, under which Drouhin has the exclusive right to farm and vinify their parcel of Le Montrachet, one of the most coveted sites in all of white Burgundy.

The Laguiche holdings comprise five vineyard blocks on the northern, Puligny side of Montrachet, bordering Puligny's Caillerets, just over two hectares in total. The grapes are hand-harvested across three separate passes to ensure optimal ripeness, then fermented in French oak, roughly thirty percent new, before aging fifteen to eighteen months on fine lees with regular bâtonnage.

The wine offers ripe peach, acacia blossom, and honeycomb, layered with toasted hazelnut and a subtle beeswax note. Full-bodied yet precise, it shows a creamy, textured palate balanced by chalky minerality and bright acidity, finishing long and resonant. It pairs beautifully with pan-seared scallops, turbot, veal, or a mature aged cheese.
