2022 Laurent Ponsot - Bourgogne Blanc Cuvee du Perce Neige (750ml)

Laurent Ponsot spent decades at his family's Domaine Ponsot in Morey-Saint-Denis, founded in 1872, where he also became known for exposing counterfeit bottles of Burgundy, most famously in the case that unmasked the fraudster Rudy Kurniawan in 2008. In 2017 he left the family estate to launch his own négociant house, simply called Laurent Ponsot, sourcing fruit from trusted growers across Burgundy and applying the same minimal-intervention philosophy that defined his earlier career.

Cuvée du Perce-Neige is a Bourgogne Blanc blended from carefully chosen parcels sourced from growers Ponsot trusts across several Burgundy communes, rather than from a single estate vineyard. The fruit is selected and vinified under his personal direction, with only light oak influence, letting the character of each parcel show through in the final blend.

The wine shows ripe yellow fruit and a touch of white flowers, framed by a light wisp of oak and a crunchy, mineral edge. Rich for its level, it carries good intensity with a long, firm finish, drinking well on its own or with food. It pairs nicely with grilled trout, a charcuterie board, or fresh chèvre.
