Vincent Girardin founded his domaine in Santenay in 1980 at just nineteen years old, working with five acres of vines inherited from his parents before steadily building relationships with growers across the Côte de Beaune to expand his holdings. Winemaker Eric Germain joined the estate in 2003 and steered it toward a more hands-off, minimal-intervention style. The label was sold to Germain in 2012, and the team has continued producing terroir-focused Chardonnay and Pinot Noir under the Girardin name ever since.

This bottling draws on old-vine parcels, many between forty and sixty years old, spread across several village lieux-dits in Chassagne-Montrachet planted on a mix of limestone, marl, and clay. The domaine farms organically, with hand harvesting and controlled yields aimed at concentrated, pure fruit. In the cellar the grapes are gently pressed and vinified with a light touch to preserve natural acidity and aromatic detail.

The wine shows pale gold color with aromas of ripe pear, lemon curd, white peach, and acacia blossom, layered with almond and buttered brioche. The palate is generous yet refined, framed by a firm mineral backbone and a long, slightly saline finish. Pour it with grilled lobster, roasted halibut, or a triple-cream cheese.
