Cave de Lugny is a grower-owned cooperative founded in 1927 in the village of Lugny, in the heart of the Mâconnais, southern Burgundy. Bringing together several hundred winegrowing families, it has grown into one of the region's largest Chardonnay producers, farming well over a thousand hectares across the Mâcon-Villages, Mâcon-Lugny, and Crémant de Bourgogne appellations. The cooperative has built its reputation on precise, protective winemaking that favors clarity and freshness over heavy extraction, along with a growing commitment to organic and sustainable viticulture across its member vineyards.

La Côte Blanche is sourced from Chardonnay vines grown on limestone and clay soils typical of the Mâconnais, where warm days and cooling evening air help the grapes ripen evenly while retaining natural acidity. The wine is vinified entirely in stainless steel, with no oak contact, preserving pure fruit character, and spends a short period on its lees before bottling to build texture and roundness.

Aromas of citrus, white flowers, and honey lead into a palate of ripe apple and peach, framed by a chalky, mineral-driven finish. Bright and smooth in texture, it drinks well on its own or alongside roast chicken, fresh goat cheese, or grilled white fish.
