2023 Charles Van Canneyt - Bourgogne Blanc (750ml)
Charles Van Canneyt has led the storied Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in Chambolle-Musigny since 2008, taking over from his grandfather Alain and building it into one of the most sought-after addresses on the Côte de Nuits. In 2012, drawing on years of relationships within the Burgundian growing community, he launched a small négociant label under his own name, working with trusted growers who harvest and press to his exact specifications before he takes over vinification in his own cellar. The Bourgogne Blanc serves as the entry point into a range built around terroir over technique and a light hand in the cellar.
The wine is sourced from estate-farmed and contracted parcels across the Côte d'Or, planted on the limestone and marl soils that define the appellation's better white sites. Fermentation takes place in barrel with indigenous yeasts, followed by a gentle élevage of roughly twelve to eighteen months in French oak, only a small portion of it new, to let the fruit and site lead.
Pale gold in the glass, it offers citrus blossom, ripe pear, and a light touch of hazelnut, with bright acidity carrying through to a clean, precise finish. It pairs nicely with seared scallops, roast pork, or a soft-ripened cheese.
