2024 Henri Boillot - Puligny Montrachet Clos de la Mouchere (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]

Domaine Henri Boillot traces its roots to 1885 in Meursault, where the estate operated for generations as Domaine Jean Boillot before Henri renamed it after buying out his siblings' shares in 2005. Henri handles the white wines with a style he favors as precise and pure, while his son Guillaume, who joined the domaine in 2008, oversees the reds and viticulture. Together they farm roughly fifteen hectares across Burgundy's finest sites in Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, Meursault, and Beaune.

Clos de la Mouchère is the domaine's monopole, a walled premier cru parcel within Les Perrières planted with old-vine Chardonnay on limestone soil. The vineyard is actually composed of several distinct micro-plots, ranging from sections bordering Clos de la Garenne to others near Clavoillon, each offering a slightly different character before being blended into the final cuvée. Grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is vinified and aged in oak barrels, with judicious use of new wood that allows the site's minerality to remain the focus.

This Puligny-Montrachet shows a bright, pale gold color with a nose combining citrus oil, dried white flowers, and a faint hint of flint. On the palate it is dense and mineral-driven, with crushed stone and orchard fruit carried by a texture that is both weighty and precise, finishing long and saline.
