2022 Oregon Territory - Pinot Noir (750ml)

Oregon Territory is the value focused label from Paul O'Brien Winery, created by winemakers Dyson DeMara and Scott Kelley, who met nearly two decades ago while working together at Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa Valley. Since then the pair has traveled to wine regions around the world, absorbing old world tradition alongside new world technique, an approach they bring to bear on this project celebrating Oregon's broader Pinot Noir landscape beyond just the Willamette Valley.

The 2022 Pinot Noir is sourced from dry farmed vineyards spanning both the Umpqua Valley and the Willamette Valley, drawing on Oregon's diversity of terroir south and north. The wine is fully open top fermented with a portion of whole cluster included in the mix, an approach meant to add lift and spice without heavy handed extraction. This combination of dry farming and gentle, native style winemaking gives the wine real character despite its accessible price point.

The wine offers a bouquet of rose petal, dark raspberry, and jasmine, with a soft, round palate carrying plum, black cherry, and vanilla. Refined tannins and steady acidity keep the finish long and smooth rather than heavy. It pairs nicely with roast chicken, grilled mushrooms, or a simple charcuterie board.
