Domaine Dupeuble has farmed the same corner of the southern Beaujolais hamlet of Le Breuil almost continuously since 1512, making it one of the oldest working estates in the region. The property has changed hands within the family only a few times over five centuries, most notably in 1919 when its last heir, Anna Asmaquer, married Jules Dupeuble. Kermit Lynch first met the family's Damien Dupeuble over lunch in Paris in the late 1980s, beginning a long relationship that continues today under siblings Ghislaine and Stéphane Dupeuble, who now run the domaine's one hundred hectares, roughly forty percent of which is planted to vine.

The estate follows the sustainable lutte raisonnée approach, tending old Gamay vines, some fifty to a hundred years old, without synthetic chemicals or fertilizers across granite, clay, and limestone soils. Grapes are harvested entirely by hand and vinified using traditional whole-cluster carbonic maceration with native yeasts and no added sulfur. The wines are never chaptalized, filtered, or degassed, an approach meant to preserve the natural character of each vintage.

The 2024 offers juicy, thirst-quenching aromas of fresh strawberry, violet, and blackcurrant, layered with baking spice and a dusting of crushed granite. Light to medium-bodied and lively, it drinks with real freshness and a touch of cru-level depth. Pair it with grilled sausages, homemade pizza, or a late-summer tomato salad.
