Hardy Noces d'Argent Cognac 750ml
Founded in 1863 by the English merchant Anthony Hardy, who settled in the region and became known locally as Antoine, Maison Hardy has spent five generations building a reputation for elegant, lightly oaked cognacs drawn from Grande and Petite Champagne. Noces d'Argent, meaning "Silver Anniversary," belongs to Hardy's Wedding Anniversary series, a collection that also includes Noces d'Or, Noces de Perle, and Noces de Diamant, each marking a different milestone with progressively rarer reserves.
This Fine Champagne cognac blends eaux-de-vie from both Grande and Petite Champagne, aged more than twenty-five years in old oak casks. Fine Champagne designation requires at least half the blend to originate from Grande Champagne, the region's premier cru, and here the extended aging allows the two crus to knit together into a single, refined character rather than showcasing either individually.
Noces d'Argent shows a deep mahogany color and opens with dried apricot, candied orange, and warm tobacco on the nose, joined by walnut and delicate roasted notes. The palate turns silky and full-bodied, offering dark chocolate, honey, and fine spice that carries into a long, elegant finish. It suits sipping neat in a snifter, alongside dark chocolate, aged cheese, or a fine cigar.
