Tesseron X.O. Lot 53 Cognac 750ml
Tesseron traces its roots to the late nineteenth century, when Abel Tesseron, whose portrait still appears on the label, acquired the family's property in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente and began patiently laying down eaux-de-vie in a twelfth-century crypt beneath the estate. That practice of quiet, long-term cellaring became the house's calling card, and Tesseron now produces exclusively XO cognacs and older from its own deep reserves, guided by successive generations of the family.
Lot 53, marketed under the name "Perfection," is built entirely from Grande Champagne fruit, the region's premier cru, blended primarily from Ugni Blanc with Colombard for added dimension. The eaux-de-vie in this cuvée have rested for more than two generations in Limousin oak, drawn from among the estate's most refined stocks and assembled to showcase finesse over sheer power.
Lot 53 pours a sumptuous topaz and opens with an opulent nose of dried fruit, tobacco, and fine oak. On the palate, pepper and spice give way to dark chocolate, plum, and fresh herbs, with a rounded, vivacious structure that carries through to a long, elegant finish.
