From Antica Torino, founded by Vittorio Zoppi and Filippo Antonelli to revive traditional Piedmontese aromatized wines and liqueurs. This amaro grew out of research into monastic herbal traditions, macerating leaves, flowers, seeds, roots, resins, spices, and bark — Piedmont staples like gentianella and hops alongside Madagascar vanilla, Indian green cardamom, Middle Eastern myrrh, and South American cinchona bark — in grain alcohol before aging until everything integrates. Cinnamon and clove lead the profile, bottled at 70 proof. Genuinely well-researched and distinctive — good after dinner or as a standout amaro in a cocktail.
