Cazcanes No. 7 Reposado Tequila 750ml
Cazcanes Tequila is crafted by master distiller Francisco Jiménez, known to admirers as Don Chico, at NOM 1614 in Amatitán, a town at the heart of Jalisco's Tequila Valley. The brand builds its identity around reviving pre-industrial production methods that many larger houses have long since abandoned, positioning itself as a return to tequila-making as it existed before mass commercialization took hold. Every batch is certified organic, kosher, and additive free, reflecting that commitment to traditional, unadulterated craft.
No. 7 Reposado starts as Cazcanes' award-winning blanco, made from 100% Blue Weber agave fermented in stainless steel vats with proprietary yeast, then double distilled in stainless steel pots fitted with copper coils. The distillery draws its water from Navichi Springs, a natural volcanic source trucked in for each production run. Following distillation, the spirit rests in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels for periods ranging from a few months to nearly a year, with the final blend assembled from barrels of varying maturity to achieve a consistent, layered profile.
The color glows honey gold, with a nose that combines sweet cooked agave, vanilla, and butterscotch alongside white pepper, hazelnut, and a touch of thyme. On the palate, the tequila turns silky and rounded, layering toasted coconut and caramel over that same core of vanilla and agave sweetness. The finish stretches long and warm, closing with lingering spice and a final trace of oak.
