NV Cossart Gordon - Madeira Rainwater (750ml)

Rainwater is a classic medium-dry Madeira, and Cossart Gordon is one of the island’s great historic houses. It’s made from Tinta Negra, heated gently in estufa tanks, then aged three years in American oak. Expect topaz color, dried fruit, orange peel, and toasted wood, with a fresh, citrusy backbone and a long finish. It’s lighter and drier than most Madeira, so it’s great chilled as an aperitif, with salty ham, nuts, and cheese, or in cocktails. It’s also one of the best values in fortified wine, and an open bottle keeps for months.
