2024 Francoise & Denis Clair - St. Aubin Remilly (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]
If the Murgers des Dents de Chien is the crown jewel of the Clair estate, En Remilly is its equally dazzling twin — and for many, the more opulent and immediately seductive of the two. One of the top Premier Cru sites in all of Saint-Aubin, En Remilly is situated directly behind the Grand Cru hill of Montrachet and just below Les Murgers des Dents de Chien, on a very chalky plot facing due southwest. The proximity to Montrachet is not merely geographical — it is tasted in every glass.
The parcel borders the vines of the celebrated Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru, and with just 1,500 bottles produced annually, it is one of the estate's rarest and most sought-after bottlings. Fermented and aged entirely in oak barrels with 20% new wood, spending ten to fifteen months in cask depending on the vintage, the 2024 En Remilly is everything great Saint-Aubin Premier Cru should be — brilliant gold in the glass with a nose of ripe white peach, tropical fruit, citrus blossom, toasted hazelnut, and a honeyed mineral depth that recalls its Grand Cru neighbors. On the palate it is richly textured and beautifully structured, with a vibrant acidity that lends extraordinary elegance and lift, and a finish of real persistence, complexity, and stony grandeur. Opulent and complex, with the potential to develop magnificently in the cellar over the next five or more years — yet irresistible right now with a decant.
