Yves Cuilleron has been called the leader of Condrieu's new generation of winemakers — a producer whose wines retain a strong sense of place while expressing each site in an approachable, immediate way. his is his entry-level Viognier, and it punches well above its price.

"Les Vignes d'à Côté" — "the vines next door" — takes its name from the proximity of these grapes to Cuilleron's more prestigious Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie holdings.  Fermented with native yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel and aged six months on the lees, the wine is built to preserve Viognier's most seductive qualities: honeysuckle, white peach, dried rose petal, and orange zest.

The 2024 opens with lifted aromas of white flowers, honeyed pear, and ripe apricot, leading to a juicy, fresh palate with impeccable balance, a hint of ginger and spice, and a clean citrus finish.  This is Viognier done right — aromatic and generous without being heavy or overdone. Drink now through 2026.
