How can we define the style of Branaire Ducru ? The first word that comes to mind is, finesse and elegance.
Patrick Maroteaux, François-Xavier’s father, considered the wines he produced were made for pleasure. The drinkability was key to him. Today, François-Xavier Maroteaux (owner) and Jean-Dominique Videau (Director and Winemaker)  share this same vision and wish the wines they produce to keep the specific style that comes from this superb terroir of Saint-Julien. 

Independently of the attachment that we can bear to this property and the people who embody it, we are convinced that the quality of the wines of Branaire Ducru is unbeatable at this price level. The wines are very accessible when young and have a great potential for ageing.

2025 promises to be a great vintage, already accessible for tasting, very expressive in its intense aromatic complexity, harmony and smoothness, yet with beautiful density

"The 2025 Branaire-Ducru is a powerful wine with a darker fruit profile than most years. Dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender, cloves and licorice open first. Floral overtones and brisk acids reappear to perk up the close. A clean, vibrant finish rounds things out in style. This is such a gorgeous and expressive wine. The 2025 is quite simply a fabulous Branaire. Tasted two times."
