Château d'Esclans sits in the Esclans Valley of the Var department, in hills roughly twenty-five kilometers from the ancient city of Fréjus. The current château dates to the nineteenth century, but its modern story began in 2006, when Sacha Lichine purchased the then-dilapidated property with the ambition of producing the world's finest rosé. That vision helped spark what's now widely called the Rosé Renaissance, reshaping how Provence rosé is perceived globally. The estate was acquired by Moët Hennessy in 2019 and continues to operate with the same winemaking philosophy Lichine established.

Whispering Angel is blended primarily from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle, with a touch of Syrah rounding out the 2025 vintage. Grapes are picked at night to preserve freshness, sorted using optical technology, then gently pressed and chilled quickly to around seven to eight degrees Celsius before fermentation. The entire process takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with no oak involved, keeping the wine's profile clean, precise and true to its fruit.

The wine pours a pale, luminous pink and offers aromas of strawberry, peach skin, citrus peel and delicate floral notes. On the palate it stays dry and medium-bodied, with fresh acidity and a smooth, rounded finish carrying a faint herbal edge. It works well with sushi, light pasta dishes or simply on its own as an aperitif.
