2025 Chateau Pradeaux - Bandol Rose (750ml)
The antithesis of the pale, delicate Provence rosé style — and proud of it. Château Pradeaux has been in the Portalis family since before the French Revolution, and today stands as the unique, inimitable standard-bearer for the Bandol appellation, situated on the Mediterranean coast between Toulon and Marseilles. The rosé is vinified by direct pressing for 24 hours, then fermented in cement tanks at controlled temperature; malolactic fermentation is blocked and the wine is bottled in mid-April of the following year. From the estate's younger vines (average age 25 years), it takes its characteristic slight orange tint from the Mourvèdre component. Robust, rich, and complex, with aromas of red berries, iodine, wild strawberry, jasmine, and spice; round and medium- to full-bodied on the palate with mineral acidity and a lively, ethereal finish. One of the rare rosés genuinely built to age. Drink now–2028
