The flagship cuvée from one of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger's most revered grower-producers, founded in 1919 and now in the hands of fourth-generation winemaker Rodolphe Péters. A blend incorporating at least 45% reserve wines drawn from a perpetual solera reserve going back to 1988, sourced from Grand Cru villages across the Côte des Blancs including Le Mesnil, Cramant, Avize, and Oger. The reserve wines bring a delicious, savory sense of sourdough richness to fresh clementine, lemon, and pale stone fruit, the tension of classic chalky villages still present but rounded out into a wine of impressive persistence — a benchmark NV Blanc de Blancs. Pale gold with green highlights, fine persistent mousse; taut and mineral-driven on the palate with chalk, slate, and gunflint wrapped in lemon zest, pear, and a subtle note of hazelnut, carrying through a long, elegant finish. Dosage 6–7 g/L. Drink now

92 Points
"The NV Blanc de Blancs Cuvee de Reserve is such a gorgeous wine. Bright, mineral and savory, with attractive tropical accents, the Cuvee de Reserve offers striking nuance and tons of class. This release is based on 2016, with reserve wines that go back to 1988. Partially blocked malolactic fermentation helps preserve a measure of freshness, but what impresses most is the wine's total sense of balance. For readers who want to know what the Cote des Blancs is all about, without spending the money for an elite cuvee, this is the place to start. In a word: impressive. "
