NV Ruinart - Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs
From the world's oldest established Champagne house comes its most iconic and celebrated expression — a Blanc de Blancs of breathtaking elegance and purity that has defined the style for nearly three centuries. Founded in 1729, Ruinart is the first established Champagne house in the world, born from the vision of Dom Ruinart who perceived before anyone else the extraordinary potential of Chardonnay in the Champagne region — and the Blanc de Blancs remains the truest and most compelling expression of that founding vision today.
A blend of 25–30 different Chardonnay crus drawn predominantly from the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, the Sézannais, and La Vallée de la Vesle — reflecting the rich diversity of Champagne's finest Chardonnay terroirs, fermented entirely in stainless steel and aged a minimum of three years on lees. The current release comes mostly from the 2021 base vintage with 40% reserve wines — pours a bright silver-straw color with aromas of bread dough, white flowers, citrus zest, and fresh lime, easygoing and approachable with a chalky texture, a kiss of sweet fruit, and real elegance throughout. The first nose reveals intense aromas of ripe lemon, juicy pear, and freshly picked peach, with secondary floral notes of white flowers and a spicy touch of ginger and pink peppercorn — balancing tension with roundness on a long, delicate finish. Simply one of the most refined and pleasurable Champagnes on the market — at any occasion, at any table.
