2023 Paros Farming Community - Seiradi White Cuvee Topos (750ml)
The Paros Farming Community traces its roots to the 1920s, when small agricultural cooperatives sprang up across the island of Paros in the Cyclades to help farming families share resources for grain, animal feed, and fertilizer. Over the following century those cooperatives evolved into what is now a unified producer of wine, cheese, and olive oil, and a new generation has since stepped in to modernize the winery while preserving its century-old community structure and the island's distinct agricultural identity.
The Cuvée Topos White is built from old-vine Monemvasia grown in semi-mountainous vineyards reaching up to 450 meters, where the soil is a striking mix of silex, quartz, basalt, and limestone. Vines here are often trained low to the ground using the traditional aplotaria system to shield them from the island's persistent winds. Winemaking follows a gentle, largely traditional path, with fermentation carried out in stainless steel to preserve the grape's natural freshness and mineral character.
The wine shows a pale yellow color with golden highlights, developing concentrated citrus and mandarin fruit alongside a fresh, slightly pithy quality and a hint of mint. The palate is juicy, fine, and linear, with real purity and a long, saline finish characteristic of the island's coastal terroir. It pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, briny shellfish, or simple Mediterranean salads.
