Mitravelas is a century-old family estate founded in 1913 by two brothers, and it remains in the same family's hands today under the direction of Konstantinos Mitravelas. The winery sits near the ancient city of Nemea in the Peloponnese, a region steeped in Greek mythology as the setting where Hercules is said to have slain the Nemean lion. Konstantinos oversees production from low yielding vines, working out of a modern facility built to handle fruit gently while staying true to the estate's long-standing style.

Moschofilero is a pink skinned, intensely aromatic grape grown widely across the Peloponnese, prized for the delicate floral character it can bring when handled with care. For this bottling the grapes are cooled before pressing, and the resulting must is collected and clarified quickly to avoid oxidation. Fermentation proceeds with selected yeasts at a carefully controlled low temperature, a technique meant to lock in the variety's fragile aromatics rather than let them fade during vinification.

The wine opens with lifted notes of evening primrose, rose petal, lime zest, and stone fruit, backed by a light dusting of white pepper. The palate is medium bodied with zingy acidity and a clean, slightly spicy finish. Serve chilled with light pasta dishes, spanakopita, or grilled chicken in a cream sauce.
