The Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey takes its name from the 69th Infantry Regiment, an Irish American militia founded in New York in 1849 that went on to serve in conflicts from the Civil War through modern deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. Introduced in 2019, the brand was created to honor that legacy of service, and a portion of each bottle sold benefits the Sixty-Ninth Regiment Historical Trust, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the regiment's history. Distilled in Ireland and imported to the United States, the whiskey aims to carry that military heritage into a distinctly American market.

Fighting 69th is a blend of three separate distillates made from barley and malted barley, each triple distilled in handmade copper pot stills built for extended vapor and copper contact. Every component matures for a minimum of three years in once-used bourbon barrels before being transferred into a variety of secondary casks, including single- and double-charred barrels along with Oloroso sherry, rum, and port casks, for a finishing period the brand keeps undisclosed. That layered cask approach is meant to build complexity beyond what a single maturation could offer, though the exact distillery of origin is not publicly named.

The nose offers toffee and vanilla with hints of stone fruit and chocolate, while the palate turns malty and smooth, carrying apple, pear, caramel, and butterscotch alongside baked bread and warm baking spice. The finish is gentle and lingering, with a last touch of cinnamon.
