Redbreast is produced at Midleton Distillery in County Cork by Irish Distillers, the same company behind Jameson, and it stands as the world's largest-selling single pot still Irish whiskey. The style dates back over a century and is defined by a mash bill combining malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled and made using soft water drawn from the Dungourney River, which gives the spirit its distinctively spicy, full-bodied character compared to single malt whiskey.

Introduced in 2016 as part of Redbreast's Iberian Series, the Lustau Edition begins its life maturing for nine to twelve years in a combination of American and European oak, following Redbreast's usual approach, before spending a further year in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks sourced from Bodegas Lustau in Jerez, Spain. That extra finishing period deepens the whiskey's inherent fruitiness and adds a drier, more Spanish oak-driven edge. It is bottled at 46% ABV.

The nose brings dark fruit, fig, and toasted almond, layered with clove-studded orange peel and marzipan. On the palate, silky pot still spice meets sultana, milk chocolate, and walnut, building toward a long finish where sherry and Spanish oak linger alongside crushed cinnamon and stewed plum.
