Wilde Irish Gin 750ml
Wilde Irish Gin comes from Oscar Wilde Spirits Ltd, founded by gin enthusiasts Stuart Hall and Conor Quinn as a tribute to the wit and legacy of Oscar Wilde. The gin is distilled in West Cork, Ireland, under the direction of Ireland's first female master distiller, whose expertise with the copper pot still shapes every batch. The brand's distinctive book-shaped bottle, designed by Stranger & Stranger, comes topped with a cap styled after Wilde's signature cane, carrying his irreverent spirit into the packaging itself.
The gin is built from a base of one hundred percent wheat neutral spirit and draws on eleven carefully chosen botanicals, including wild mountain purple heather, whole fresh limes, bitter orange peel, red grapefruit, sweet orange, chamomile flowers, coriander leaf, juniper, angelica, orris root, and licorice root. These are cold-infused for sixteen to eighteen hours before a single distillation in a traditional copper pot still, and the finished spirit is bottled at 47 percent alcohol by volume without chill filtration, preserving the natural botanical oils that might otherwise be stripped away.
The nose is bold and intense, opening with floral notes before whole citrus fruit and a lingering bitter orange peel take hold. On the palate, the gin is smooth and rounded, beginning with a touch of tartness before chamomile and purple heather emerge in the middle, creating a mellow, citrusy-sweet floral character. The finish is long and subtle, closing gently rather than with a sharp cut.
