Ferghettina was founded in 1991 by Roberto Gatti, who released his first two wines the following year and named the estate after the area of Adro where his family had long farmed. The winery sits in the moraine hills of Franciacorta overlooking Lake Iseo, and the Gatti family has since grown it into one of the region's leading producers, now managing roughly two hundred hectares of vineyards across several Franciacorta municipalities. Their approach favors precision farming and a strict adherence to the traditional method, reflecting a broader ambition to establish Franciacorta as Italy's answer to Champagne.

Milledì is a vintage-dated Chardonnay, grown at around two hundred and fifty meters above sea level on the glacial moraine, limestone, and gravel soils that give Franciacorta wines their characteristic structure and minerality. The grapes are pressed gently, with only the highest-quality free-run juice selected for this cuvée. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and the base wine rests through the following spring before undergoing secondary fermentation in bottle, followed by an extended period of lees aging that builds complexity and a fine, persistent mousse.

The wine shows a pale straw-yellow color with green and gold hints, framed by a fine and lasting perlage. The nose combines ripe peach and citrus with white flowers and a hint of toasted bread, while the palate is fresh and well balanced, closing on a clean, mineral finish. It pairs elegantly with seafood crudo, oysters, or fresh burrata.

92 Points
"The 2019 Brut Franciacorta Milledì is smoky and mineral in style, blending stone dust with savory herb and young peach aromas. It sweeps across the palate with a massaging bead of fine bubbles as ripe orchard fruits swirl across a stream of brisk acidity. Pretty inner florals resonate as the 2019 finishes with admirable length and youthful tension, leaving suggestions of citrus-tinge nectarine to fade slowly. Frankly stated, this over-delivers.
