2020 Pira, Enrico (Chiara Boschis) - Barolo DOCG Cannubi Boschis
Originating from the Cannubi Boschis vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba, the 2020 Pira by Chiara Boschis showcases the precise, long-lived structure that defines Northern Barolo’s premium hillside plots. Grown on calcareous clay soils and vinified from estate Nebbiolo grapes picked during a balanced 2020 harvest, this bottling emphasizes concentration without sacrificing the varietal’s characteristic lift.
Tasting Notes
The nose presents layered aromas of sour cherry, stewed plum, and dried rose, accented by violet, cedar, and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, grippy yet integrated tannins frame a medium-bodied core of red berry and forest floor, while bright acidity keeps the finish clean and saline-subtle. With 10–15 years of cellar aging, secondary layers of tobacco, leather, and underbrush will deepen steadily.
Decanting for 90 minutes before serving allows the tannic grip to soften and the aromatic complexity to fully unfold. Pour at 16°C–18°C to preserve freshness while showcasing the wine’s savory depth.
