2024 Kellerei Eisacktaler - Alto Adige Valle Isarco DOC Kerner (750ml)
Sourced from steep terraces at 650 to 950 meters in the Vall’Isarco valley, this 2024 Kerner captures Alpine vineyard discipline at scale. Cultivated in light, stony soils composed of quartz, diorite schist, and granite, the vines balance cool glacial drafts with intense midday sun, yielding a Riesling-Trollinger crossover engineered for crisp structure and aromatic concentration.
The aroma opens with bright expressions of yellow peach, apricot, and mango, layered with varietal hallmarks of white pepper, elderflower, and crushed flint. Medium in body yet densely packed, the palate moves quickly from fleshy white nectarine and green apple into a laser-focused malic acid spine. The wine finishes exceptionally long and dry, shedding fruit residue to leave a persistent chalky salinity, citrus pith bite, and a clean whisper of mountain mint.
Fermented and aged completely unoaked in stainless steel with short lees contact, the vintage holds steady at 13.5% to 14.0% alcohol while preserving its structural tension. Pour at 48–52°F using a standard white wine or Riesling glass to release the full bouquet. The combination of pronounced acidity and muscular texture makes it reliable with speck and rye bread, pan-seared freshwater trout with almonds, grilled sea bass, young Fontina or Gruyère, and gently spiced dishes like Thai crab cakes or Vietnamese spring rolls.
